TI Project on HIV/AIDS, supported by OSACS

We are running TI project at Industrial sites of Meramandali Industrial area of Dhenkanal dist. for migrant laborers funded by Orissa State Aids Control Society(OSACS), Govt. of Odisha(indirect sponsorship of NACO, New Delhi.) We are running this programme since 2009 very successfully. For 3 times we were the highest scorer in Odisha among the migrant TI partners of OSACS, evaluated by external evaluators, deputed by NACO. This year we provided service to 10,605 number of active population against the target 10,000 and our cumulative figure of migrants since 2009, who got services from us till date is 45,017. This year we tested 3469 number of blood samples through referral to ICTC(2804 nos.) and our CBST camps(665 nos.). We detected 2 no.s of HIV patients in this year 2019-20 and cumulative figure of HIV patients since 2009 is 26, out of which 9 PLHIV are getting ART treatment, 8 PLHIV migrated and recorded death cases of 9 PLHIV. We provided services to PLHIV & sent them to ART center. We also detected 137 nos. of STI patients through our health camps. We referred 79 TB cases and detected 1. We organized 25 mid-media activities, 257 health camps(669.5 Hours) by taking 6239 participants, 8 congregation events, 24 demand generation programme, 28 advocacy meetings and distributed awareness leaflets, displayed highly educative awareness flex banners by our own cost . We provided counseling services to 7,343 nos. of migrants. We socially marketed 28,800 no.s of condoms directly and through 50 nos. of Outlets & also marketed medicines socially among migrant laborers through our health camps and successfully we fulfilled almost all the targets fixed by NACO. We celebrated WORLD AIDS DAY with Dist. health administration and dist. Administration of Dhenkanal dist. as the major organizing partner. Our team participated actively to implement HIV programmes in TATA Steel BSL, BRG Iron & Steel, Naba Bharat Ventures Ltd. , Rungta Steels and Mines and in the peripheral villages of these industries .
